Making Sense of Heidegger: A Paradigm Shift (2015); Martin Heidegger, Logic: The Question of Truth (trans., 2007); Becoming Heidegger (2007); Edmund Husserl: Psychological and Transcendental Phenomenology and the Encounter with Heidegger (1997); Karl Rahner: The Philosophical Foundations (1987); The First Coming: How the Kingdom of God Became Christianity (1986); and Heidegger, the Man and the Thinker (1981).

【This lecture course covers (1) the question of method in Heidegger in relation to his entire project, (2) the main ideas and arguments of Being and Time, and (3) the relation between the early Heidegger (up through 1930), the middle Heidegger (1930s), and the later Heidegger (1945-1976). After introductory lectures on the scope and method of Heidegger’s philosophy, students will engage in a close reading of his major text, Being and Time. In that effort they will be aided by the professor’s manuscript-in-progress: a line-by-line condensation and paraphrase of the text that retranslates Heidegger’s difficult terminology into accessible philosophical prose.】
